    Which of these tests did you find easy to take - Biology I, Introduction to Marketing and Business Law I?

    I've taken all three of those and I thought Introduction to Marketing was the easiest.

    According to the DOD stats:

    Marketing = 64% pass rate

    Biology = 31% pass rate

    Bus Law = 21% pass rate

    Don't let the stats psych you out - I mean, my 16 year old CLEPed out of Calculus (17%) and American Government (24%). These are DOD stats, and not to imply that our servicemembers are underachieving, but military members take CLEP/DSST for free.

    How do REA and Peterson's compare on the Biology test? I'm taking it next week. I had an amazingly awesome high school Bio teacher, so most of the stuff is familiar, the REA book just goes a lot more in depth. Haven't taken any practice tests yet.

    Hi PonyGirl,
    The only CLEP test I took was English with Essay which I found to be very easy. However bear in mind that some colleges do not accept this particular exam. Although I used it at Excelsior I believe they no longer accept it.

    Thanks, but I know TESC accepts all the ones on my list.

    Anyone have any suggestions on the biology?? I got a 65 on the first Peterson's test.

    Bear in mind, the armed services folks can take these exams for free. So if they decide to take one on a whim and they fail, they're not losing anything. I'm sure that affects the pass rate, especially for General Ed exams.

    I haven't tried Biology myself, but I'm told it's much more difficult than many of the other exams. I've done Business Law-- if you study the material thoroughly and take practice exams it's passable. I imagine there were many more casual test takers in Business Law than Biology, or folks who simply didn't study enough.

    the clep bio is not that hard if you've read a little and remember what you've read

    the exam guide
    http://www.collegeboard.com/student/testing/clep/ex_bio.html
    makes it seem much harder than it really is

    I used
    Biology Made Simple
    http://www.amazon.com/Biology-Made-Simple-Rita-Mary/dp/0767915429/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1260213784&sr=8-1

    and the general knowledge I have from watching pbs over the years

    I passed easily with a 64
    considering you only need a 50 to pass, I had plenty to spare
    and remember, this is pass or fail exam, not a letter grade exam

    yes, I wish I had done better, but I feel like I did well enough considering I only read one 200 page book
    and we're not talking 200 "academinc" pages, but rather 200 "easy" pages

    I think anybody who has any real knowledge / interest in bio will pass easily

    you could also watch these videos
    http://learner.org/resources/browse.html?discipline=6
    I really like the psychology series, but not many of the others, though I've really only watched the social science ones, not the life or physical science ones
    (and for some reason, I can't see any of them at work, only at home)

    Just barely passed Biology. The test is much harder than the REA or Peterson's tests. It covers a lot of the same topics, but expects you to know a lot more about them. So if you use either of those, only use them as a starting place.

    let me just warn you
    I thought Educational Psych was the 2nd hardest exam I've taken
    I knew the different kinds of testing and developmental stages, but had to guess at the classroom strategies and management

    I thought I was prepared because I had the REA book, but I wasn't

    The hardest exams I've taken is probably a tie between DANTES modern middle east and DANTES religion

    DANTES - INTRODUCTION TO MODERN MIDDLE EAST (55)
    DANTES - INTRODUCTION TO WORLD RELIGIONS (62)
    CLEP - ANALYZING AND INTERPRETING LIT (77)
    CLEP - INTRODUCTORY PSYCHOLOGY (74)
    CLEP - BIOLOGY (64)
    CLEP - INTRODUCTION TO EDUCATIONAL PSYCHOLOGY (70)
    CLEP - AMERICAN GOVERNMENT (66)
