Here's a brief rundown of my experience with this test if anyone is interested:

First, I found a suitable proctor. My local public library said they would do it, and they even knew about TECEPs! The library does not charge for their proctoring service, unlike the local college. After finding a proctor, I ordered the test online. Using the information they provided, I calculated it would cost $495! Quite expensive. They also warned to schedule it at least a month in advance. I tried to schedule the test two weeks in advance, as I thought that should be plenty of time. I was wrong. After two weeks, I wasn't even charged for the exam yet, and a quick call to the library revealed they hadn't received it. I thought that perhaps the order didn't go through properly, so I called TESC and they notified me that they had no record of me placing such an order. At that point, I decided to just put it off a little while longer. A week later, I was charged for the exam. Thanks TESC! At least they "only" charged my $480. A week and a half later, I verified the library had the exam, and I went in and took it. How was it? It was pretty simple. The pdf document on TESC's web site describes the test accurately. I had two hours to complete it. The test was entirely a pencil and paper test. While taking the test, I realized that I hadn't actually written anything like that on paper in years, thanks to computers. TESC was kind enough to give suggested amounts of time to be spent in each area. For the final essay, they give you a list of four subjects to write about, and it's up to you to pick one. This makes it a bit easier. You may ask why I took this exam. It was to satisfy the Excelsior written English requirement. If you can part with nearly $500, it seems a fairly simple way to do so.

TECEPS are $500.00 each? That doesn't sound right.

If you're not a TESC enrolled student, TECEPS are $160 per credit hour. It's much less for enrolled students, I think?

Yes, they are quite expensive for those who aren't TESC students. You have to decide if the ease of the exam (it is very easy) is worth the cost.

How much are TECEP exams if you are enrolled in TESC?

They're currently advertising $83 per credit. If you're a TESC student, I'd just take the CLEP.
