    Hello Folks!

I know the Praxis II exams don't really offer credit, but in Virginia teachers can add additional endorsements to their licenses if they pass additional Praxis II tests. My wife, whose endorsement is in special education, was just told she has to get "highly qualified" in English and Math. Back when Dubya's legislation first came about, teachers could do these little "institutes" to get highly qualified. Now they don't do that, so her only option is to take 24 credits in Math PLUS 24 credits in English OR take the Praxis II exams in both subjects all by the end of next school year.

Because she's taking courses for Speech Language Pathology, she really doesn't want to take more courses for special ed when she's trying to change career paths. However, she is considering taking the praxis II test in English just to see how she does.

Can anyone offer information about this exam?

    Thanks,
    Matt
