I had fun studying for this one, but it was tougher than I expected! I passed with a 56, which is an 'A' at Excelsior, with about four days intense study. I made the mistake of ignoring archaeology, and spent all my time studying cultural anthropology. So of course the exam has a large number of questions on Peking man, Australophithecines (sp?), homo erectus, homo habilus, and I had no idea. I remember a question or two about the Kula ring, as well. I learned about kinship diagrams, but then I was annoyed on the real exam because they ask you to identify cross cousins without letting you know whether or not EGO is male or female. My book showed a little triangle for male, circle for female, but on the exam EGO is a square! So I was confused, and I likely missed that one. Also know about Mendel genetics, basic religion (like, what purposes it serves for cultures), cargo cults, Mayan Civilization, and a bit about evolution. I used the book Cultural Anthropology by Serena Nanda. That's all I can remember, but here's some links: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Maya_civilization http://www.westerncentermuseum.org/ http://anthro.palomar.edu/tutorials/biological.htm
