The people have spoken, and we have heard them!

Feel free to start populating this section by starting a thread for specific exams, such as "DANTES - Introduction to Law Enforcement", and then listing facts about the exam, study guides, personal advice, experiences, etc.

    Let the posting begin!

    Thanks Bruce!

In order to make this a great resource - each exam thread needs to stay "on-topic" - IMHO, congratulatory threads and such belong in the other threads, not here.

Again, thanks to the DegreeInfo staff.

I agree; let's try to keep each thread concise and on-topic.

    Bruce,

Could you make this a sticky - so there is an explanation of what the thread is for...

    Thanks!

    No problem.....done.

I don't think I've ever seen a new section grow so quickly!

    Bruce,

I believe we have seen just the beginning - as the word gets out about this incredible all volunteer free resource, more people will come to it. I would also suggest changing the name of this thread to "How the Credit by Examination Forum Works", or something like that.

    Again, thanks again for listening.

Sowak777 made a convincing argument that it would attract new members, and there was clearly support for it, so here we are.

Hmmm....I never tried changing an existing thread name....not sure if I can do it, but I'll tinker a bit and see what I can do.

I agree on changing the title of the sticky (if you can).

Yes, this forum is just getting started. I am going to search through old posts and update the appropriate threads in the new sub-forum. I just started with an Easiest/Hardest CLEP and DSST Exams Thread:

Unless I'm missing something (which is possible if not probable), I can't do it.

If someone wants to create an "official" explanation of this forum with the appropriate title (perhaps by tossing ideas around in this thread), I'll post the new thread, stick it, and close it, then let this one start to sink.

Based on what I've seen so far this will become a fantastic resource for the distance learning community. Congratulations to all the contributors for making it so.

I too have been doing a search of old posts on credit by examination and making a .doc file of same. Hopefully, once I wade through what we already have, posts of old threadlinks to each exam can be made on the proper threads in the new CLEP, DANTES, and Other Exams for Credit sub-forum. I have, of course, also started the thread Sticky: Exam Diets.

    Hello

    Hello, everyone --

I am beginning my 2nd year of non-traditional college (I now have college experience in each of the last 3 decades), and I am thrilled to see this forum. I've been lurking on degreeinfo for some time (registration problems prevented me from posting), but when this new forum got started, I decided it was time to make a public appearance.

I'm now locked out of my feedback on the 'other' board, so I'll be re-creating my feedback over the next couple weeks. Bummer about the other board. I'm a Business major and recent studies include Economics and e-Commerce (where I learned about the value to a business of online communities). So my first thought was if it were me, I'd find a way to make the offering more compelling -- build the business up, so more would pay -- rather than go the opposite way. I'm not in in their shoes though, so I guess that's all I will say.

I'm currently working on some DL classes via Chadron State and my local CC, but also preparing for exams, so I'll have more feedback in the months to come.

    Phillip
