Just make sure the school you're in accepts either - you may need the Algebra as a pre-requisite for other courses....

If you can take ACE approved classes, then Penn Foster "College Algebra" formerly known as "Technical Math I" is probably the easiest class out there.
It is available through the Business and Industrial Division you do not have to be a degree student to take this class.
Penn foster considers this class 2 credits but it is rated as a 3 credits class by Ace.
which means you only have to pay 55$ per credit + 20$ fee.
Total 130$ which includes all the books and scientific calculator, you simply can't beat that.
    Good luck

Back when CLEP had the two categories, general & subject, the general exams (College Math was one) were generally "easier".

However, make sure your program will accept ANY exam before you put in the time, money, and effort. For example, my undergrad wouldn't accept the "English Composition" general exam, it had to be the "Freshman College Composition" subject exam.

Excelsior told me they'd accept either for their Math Requirement with a passing score of 50.
