I didn't need either. . . 15+ years of experience, including programming roles. . . I was able to sit the Dantes test cold and get a 70! :)

Im lacking the 15 years experience.

After doing a search ive seen mixed reviews on the exams and was wondering if anyone had taken these recently and what they studied.

  4. I took them both, that books is a little helpful, but if you know basic things about computers you should do fine. I took info systems without studying and MIS i read the book for like an hour and I got 65 on it.

So, are you saying that 15 years of experience can be made up in an hour's worth of studying? ;)

I used IC only for MIS and scored a 61. I have no professional IT experience. IC is more than enough for this one.

    Thanks for the info.

Given the respectable score I got on the Intro to Sociology exam, well, yes.

Picked up a used book on ebay for this one (compared the dsst infosheet to make sure the book covered the areas being tested) and passed with no problem. Not much studying required for someone working in the technology industry.

As far as the info sys, i used instantcert as well as google and passed without a problem (then again, i have been working with computers for a while but that exam is fairly easy). Since you are thinking of testing out with these 2, you should also consider the Intro to Computing Dantes. Not a duplicate exam as far as Excelsiour is concerned.
