Is the TI BA II Plus generally accepted by proctors for the DSST Principles of Finance exam?

The guidelines specify 'non-programmable', which typically means there is no ability to store text. Also, this calculator is accepted on CFP/CPA exams, and on university Finance course exams, so I don't see why not.

Any area to focus on that Instacert does not cover (eg. CAPM calculations)? Is the official fact sheet pretty accurate (section VI, capital budgeting, is listed at just 11%)?

So far this material does not seem nearly as difficult as others have commented. Am I missing something?

    Thanks in advance. :)

    Bring it.

That sounds like you should be able to use it. My proctor wasn't too anal about the calculator. You will use it, so make sure you understand how to use it.

Don't rely soley on Instacert for this exam. It will help, but you should incorporate a lot more. Instacert was very poor for this exam.

Check out www.degreeforum.com for plenty of tips on this exam. Go to the forum section and you'll find plenty of insight on this particular exam. Good luck.

    Re: Bring it.

Thanks, Ultimale! The feedback from degreeforum has been very useful, along with the referenced teachmefinance.com and quickmba.com. I am more or less looking for some last-minute tips. I just took DSST Statistics and was under the impression that most of the formulas would be listed on the front -- boy was I wrong! I'll be posting more on that experience over at DF in a few days...

For Finance, two more things that have really helped: the BAII+ plus manual, which has a ton of relevant sample problems, and the online quizes from the de-facto finance textbook Fundamentals of Financial Management.

If anyone has additional tips on Finance, please post 'em!
