Excelsior ECE Question

Which is easiest?

World Pop?
Ethics Theory & Practice?
American Dream?

I have figured out by talking with Excelsior that I can just pass one of these tests, and then the CLEP for Algebra, and then I can graduate.

Advice on which one to take for someone with a theology, languages, OT history and English Lit. background? Methods for study?

I must admit that even though I haven't taken any of these exams I'm not sure I agree that the higher passing rates are necessarilly going to be easier.

If I were you I would download the free content guides form Excelsior and try out the practice questions. See which of the subjects you think you're best at. Also keep in mind American Dream is a 6 credit test, and is mixed between essay and multiple choice, while the other two are multiple choice for the entire test.

 

I did not take it but apparently World Pop is very easy.

I took ethics, you will need to know the basic schools of thought in philosophical ethics. Excelsior's Course Guide is very helpful to focus your study.

I have a science background and now works in the IT field.

I did the DANTES Ethics and got an A from Excelsior. So, unless u need the upper levelm which is what Excelsior gives for their equivalent course, then I would recommend DANTES Ethics. Its cheaper than Exclesior's, and I got all my material from the net.

I think ethics is far and away the easiest. Get one or both of these books from the library. Or buy them. They're like $10 each. They are relatively short and easy reads. You could easily finish both in a week.

I haven't taken American Dream becasue I believe you have to write essay as part of the exam.

World Population is supposed to be easy. Seems like too much memorization for me though.

 

I'm not sure what kind of languages you're good at (you mentioned languages) and what kind of credits you need ... but it's possible to get up to 12 credits by taking a CLEP language exam. I think they are offered for German, French and Spanish.

The test ( I took the German) was very easy and multiple choice.
