I was wondering if anyone has any tips on these two exams?

I've been passing most of my exams using instacert, but I see the DSST personal finance is not covered on instacert. The official study guide makes the test look like a joke. Is it as simple as it appears in the official guide?

Has instacert proved enough for anyone who has taken the counseling test? Anything I should pay special attention to using google?

    Thanks,
    Lindsay

Coach Turner, an esteemed member of this board, says that DSST Fundamentals of Counseling was easy for him. He also mentions that both DSST Fundamentals of Counseling and DSST Personal Finance have over 50% pass rates.

Thanks very much. Doesn't seem to be a ton of info out there on these two.

If you will go to this thread http://forums.degreeinfo.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=20265 , you will find a weblink to the "Whole Ed Catalog" which itself will have weblinks to ACT-PEP (Regents), CLEP, DANTES/DSST, and TECEP. Then there are clickable links to info on each exam, complete with wonderful bibliographies. Hope this helps.

I thought they were both very easy. I didn't prepare much for them both and passed! Good Luck!

Personal Finance was quite a simple exam.
I used a book titled "The Everything Personal Finance in Your 20s & 30s Book" By Debby Fowles Link: http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/1580629709/qid=1123463377/sr=2-1/ref=pd_bbs_b_2_1/103-8698499-9134227

Book is a VERY VERY easy read, took me about 2 days to complete the 304 pages (anyone can fly through this book fast). I also used the DSST Personal Finance Chapter from the official study guide just to cover all bases

Here is a link to the online study guide

    http://www.petersons.com/airforce/dsst.asp?sponsor=8

Just click "read book" and locate the PF chapter.
This will be more than enough for an A grade.
