    Hello Everyone,

Please point me to right direction. What is the difficulty level of DANTES Public Speaking exam? I want to take this exam within two weeks; and I talked to the Marine Corps Joint Education Counselor. She told me that this exam was taken by 25 examies last year, and only 1 passed the exam.

I looked the DANTES website; the passing rate is 84%. However what she told wasn't even 5% of passing rate.

I am using Jack Rudman's DANTES - 59 series in Public Speaking; which is published by National Learning Corporation. And also review some terminology from the links from previous posts on www.degreeforum.com.

I am not a good speaker, and I want pass this exam. Of course, I don't have to pay for the exam, but I want to pass in order to move on for the next class.

If you passed this exam before, please give me some advice includes the topic was given for speech.

    I really appreciate your help.

Hello Tekman, I purchased an out of date (by one out of date version) and did quite well on the exam. The speech portion was a 3-5 minute speech (forgot the time limit to write it, 10 minutes?) given into a tape recorder with a proctor observing. The topics change all the time, but my topic was "do you feel NCAA athletes should be paid", I found it an interesting topic to speak about. Anyway, as to the pass rates, go by the DSST site numbers, and goodluck Jarhead, you will pass, lol, from an army scout.
