CLEP Social Sciences and History

First of all, I would like to say I really enjoy reading this message board. I have learned a lot, and find the threads very informative.

I'm hoping somebody here can answer my question. I am studying for the CLEP Social Sciences and History general exam. I have been using the Free University Project links for the majority of my study. However, I find the Sociology links to be lacking. Can anyone recommend a text book or a web resource I can use to study for the Sociology portion of this exam? Has anyone here taken this exam? Which areas should I concentrate on in my studies?

I plan on pursuing a BA in Journalism from Excelsior College. I have worked in the field for more than 20 years now, but would really like the degree to back up my credentials. Has anyone here obtained a Bachelors in Journalism via distance education? Which university did you use?

I know these are a lot of questions to throw at you all at once, but my main question centers around where to find study materials for the Sociology portion of the CLEP Social Sciences and History exam (preferably online, and if possible, cheap or free)

I'm actually able to answer one of my own questions. After doing a Google search, I found the text to an introduction to Sociology textbook online. So far, it has answered a lot of the questions I find in my CLEP preparation materials. For anyone else who is studying Sociology for CLEP, here is the link:

Has anyone else taken the Social Science and History General Exam for CLEP? Any thoughts on the level of difficulty?
