Was wondering if some of the CLEP general exams would end up creating duplicate credit if other CLEP exams were also taken. For example, can someone take US history I and Social Sciences and recieve 9 credits? Certainly would have to ask the particular school, but was wondering if anyone had any experience on this.

Well...actually checking, I see Lawrie lists taking both on BAin4weeks, so maybe I've answered my own question, unless something has changed since then.

    Randy_Excelsior,

I am enrolled at Excelsior, and had the same questions. I wrote the tests before I was enrolled, and at the time, I figured the testing experience would be worth it, even if I had some duplication.

I wrote Natural Sciences & Biology and received the full 12 credits. Wrote Soc.Sci & US Hist. I and II and received the full credits for each. I also wrote Human growth & development, and there was no overlap from the Soc. Sci. side either.

Of course, I didn't ask if this was a mistake, and if there really was any duplication of credit...

My evaluation was completed pretty recently--at the beginning of July.

There shouldn't be a problem. The exams you give as an example cover two different bodies of knowledge, even though they are similar is some aspects. :)

    Cheers.

I was given credit for US History and History and Social Science. However, I was given 6 hrs for Biology and only 3 for Natural Science. This is for COSC.

I took a lot of CLEP exams ( http://bain4weeks.com/randell.html ) and COSC only gave me 3 credits for the CLEP History and Social Science exam.
