I got my written results on the Psych GRE yesterday and I thought I'd post the information here in case anyone is considering using this as a source of credit at COSC when the test rolls around again in November.

Out of 213 questions, I answered 116 correctly, 48 incorrectly and omitted answers to 49. I scored a 570 and at the 46th percentile. So I hit about 70% for a raw score in what I answered. That reflects what I was hitting in the mock tests, about 70% correct of the answers I attempted.

I will say that I did some guessing since Lawrie Miller's site said to guess if you could eliminate 1 or 2 of the 5 answers, so of my 116 correct answers I have no idea how many of those were guesses and were right and how many were wrong.

I took 3 mock tests and pretty consistently answered 70% of the questions I marked as correct. So my advice would be to use the mock tests and if you hit in the 70% range you could consider taking this test. Blank answers obviously don't hurt you too much.

For those without any psych credits going in, it's worth 18 credits at COSC at or above the 40th percentile. Since I already had a Psych 101 class, that duplicated, I received 15 credits at COSC for this test. They did not consider Developmental Psych as a duplicative credit. The test costs 130.00 so if you get the score you need, it's very cost effective, less than 10.00 per credit hour.

Good luck to those who try it in November or December. Hope this helps you decide.
