I have just received my DSST results except for one (I took 48 hours of DSST and Cleps in 2 weeks). I took intro to LE as my first exam and recieved all of the other ones back except that one. I called DSST and the lady asked when I took it. I told her, she put me on hold and came back and said we'll call you monday. She answered the rest of my questions with "we are researching it and will call you back." Any one else ever had one of these lost? WHat was your experience with it? I have passed all of them so far and want to thank everyone here for providing excelent info and inspiration to someone who never thought he would get a degree (due to time and cost). With a 18 prior credits before these tests,I am now well on my way. Thanks. Congratulations! By my calculations, you now have over 60 credits towards your degree (the CLEP Humanities and Social Science & History are recommended 6 credits each). Well done! BTW....if you're in LE already, don't worry for a second about the DANTES Intro to LE exam. It was obviously designed for someone who has no experience in the field.
Any one else ever had one of these lost? I had a similar experience several months ago. After numerous phone calls to the DANTES folks and the local college where I tested, the exam was finally located in the college mail room, never having been mailed out. Check if your payment to DANTES or where you tested has been collected. This may give you an inkling as to where the problem lies. Good Luck. Tom p.s. Very Impressive!
Thanks to everyone for your kind words. I was on paternity leave at the time which gave me a great deal of flexability. I also have you all's past experiences to help aid me. I'm just hoping the lost exam gets found quickly. I have to submit my scores and get a transcript from Excelsior ASAP. Thanks again.BTW how long does it take to submit Clep and DSST scores and get your transcript from Excelsior? FED
I've had a CLEP exam results lost. I even once had the exam report in my possession for 15 years - but tossed it a year ago , assuming - wrongly - that it would be found. This might not be a problem fror you, but for me, the missing exam credit is in my major. I've called ETS before and again without results. --Orson
Can you send a link to this "Xenia's Guide"? Morten Xenia's Guide's are sold on ebay. If you do a search for Clep Prep and check the box which says "in titles & descriptions" you will see a few of Xenias guides toward the bottom. Tom
Also, she tends to sell her guides for either $32 or $5/$6, and from what I can tell they are the same except for the money back guarantee for the higher-priced item. I wouldn't pay $32 for the material, but $5 or $6 is decent value for what you get. Cheers, Mark
Hey guys, GOt my Intro to LE results in today. It's funny, first test taken last one recieved. Got a 59. That concludes it 48 hours. Thanks again. FED
Glad you finally got everything. Congratulations. I had a similar problem with DANTES. I am beginning to suspect that they are not too well organized. I took my first DANTES on 23 Dec 2003. After seven weeks of nothing, I called. They put me on hold for several minutes, then told me they would have to call me back (sound familiar?). When they did call back, I was told that my results had been mailed the day before (coincidence?). While I was waiting, I also was fearful that my exam had been lost. Because of this, I am having the proctor for the remaining four DANTES exams (two down, two to go) xerox my answer sheet so that I have proof that I took the exam and what my answers were. I don't know if this is kosher or not, but I don't see the harm, as without the test booklet, the answer sheet is meaningless.
With the technology that exists for computer based scanning...it's really a wonder why Chauncey doesn't import this and allow users to "see" virtually what they made. That's usually enough to psychologically buffet angst until a hard copy is received. Things that make you go "hmmmm", Steven King
