You all have been a wonderful source of information, so I was hoping to get your opinions on one more thing...

I've finally decided on TESC (contrary to my earlier hesitation about response times, they've been rather prompt and polite once I applied) where I will be going for an Associate in Science in Management. Following that, I am planning to go for a Bachelors (Business Administration) but I'm not 100% certain whether that will also be at TESC or if I will transfer to another institution.

I am hoping to test out of the small handful of Gen. Ed. requirements I still need to meet for the ASM at TESC (I'll be transferring in credits to meet easily 75% of the Gen. Ed's), but since I may be transferring elsewhere later, I want to be certain I choose the right tests and will not need to re-take a class or exam later to meet another school's requirements.

So my question is, what type of exam is the most widely accepted if I were to transfer later? I'm guessing CLEP or DANTES, but what tends to be the best choice for transfer-approval?

Thank you in advance for your advice!

I've found CLEP to be the most accepted followed by DANTES.

I've also found CLEP to be the most widely accepted, followed by DANTES.

If you plan on going on for your Bachelor's degree, you might as well stay with TESC. There won't be an issue with transfer of credit, and you'll be very familiar with their system by the time you finish your A.S.M. degree.

    Thank you!

Thank you very much for the advice - I suspected CLEP or DANTES would be ideal, but I'd hate to make a mistake with something as important as this.

I'm certainly considering remaining at TESC for the Bachelors, but am also wanting to leave my options open to the possibility of a DL program at a state school once I have the ASM. Unfortunately many of the state schools I found (that I would be interested in, or could afford) either do not offer Associates, or their DL Bachelors programs required that applicants have an Associates to enroll. So, I am earning my ASM and then I'll re-evaluate the options when the time comes.

Thanks again, gentlemen! There is always helpful advice to be had here.

    Why not check...?

Followed by ECE - 12 or 1300 US institutions, then TECEPs.

But why don't you check with the Thomas Edison staff and report back? I don't think any estimate or round number estimating TECEP acceptance has ever been posted on the board before...or do I recall rightly an old figure of 7-800?

    This needs investigation!

If you go to Collegeboard.com (they administer CLEP), there is a list of institutions that accept them. How many credits and which ones are individual.

I agree that staying at TESC through the Bachelor's is easiest. That's my plan at this point.
