Ethics in America Exam. My thoughts on the exam. First of all, I did not think that this was a gimme exam as some have advised. It was much more taxing than I was led to believe. Here is the detail. 36 multiple choice questions regarding the Philosophers and philosophical schools of thought. Then 75 questions on Yes/No ethical situations. I thought the situational questions were a bit grey and could potentially have two interpretations for each one. You had to have good knowledge of the different schools of ethical thought (Kant, Locke, Hobbes, Utilitarianism, Greek schools of philosopy) to analyze the situation and apply the correct ethical choice. I hope that I didn’t blow that part of the exam. There was an essay at the end of the exam based off two scenarios requesting that you prove your understanding of the ethical situation, present your argument for resolving, present the other sides potential viewpoint, and then close essay by reiterating your argument and validity thereof. The exam is very similar to the CLEP general exams in that the exam covered a very broad range and was difficult to study for. I hope that most of the common sense questions were exactly that; common sense. Otherwise my score will be toast!!!

Hope this helps anyone who is taking this exam. I'll post and let you know my score once I receive it.

    Yeah.

YEs, I took that thing. I did get an A but apparently, in my school, according to my admissions counselor, I wasn't supposed to complete the essay section. So I did it anyway. Just a hint to anyone else. Check to see if the essay is required.

I looked at this test and then decided there were easier options for me for the upper level credit. I'm still amazed at those who sit exams cold and pass with A's.
