With my experience and opinion that AP Exam is harder than CLEP exam. When I was in High School about 1 1/2 years ago, the teacher did not how to cover the materials that in the AP exam. However recently I took several CLEP exam, I think that I did better even though I couldn't remember much the material back from High School.

I don't like Biology since Freshman of High School. However, you can check out this study guide at eBay. It is only $5.00

    CLEP STUDY GUIDE

    or
www.ismartstudy.com // I think the course is too expensive.

If you have done Introduction to Psychology before, please give me a feedback 'cause it is going to be my next CLEP. Trying to take the one for FREE first.

    I'm using

I'm using the Cliff's AP Biology and Princeton Review Cracking the SAT II: Biology to prep for the CLEP General Biology. I used the latter to review for the CLEP Science General exam.

As far as getting an accurate guage of your learning, I'm sure Laurie Miller would point out that only the official CLEP sample exam on Gen Biol will give you accurate feedback on your learning - although I find the above PR multiple choice questions helpful and encouraging to me. (PR also has the rep on the board for producing the most closely matched study materials for multiple choice questions; there are exceptions to the rule, but not many!)

As for the AP exams, they are only offered once a year (in May), typically include a written AND a multiple choice section (or "lab component" for biology), and are considerably longer.

I'm avoiding the AP except if I need to take it (e.g. World History); otherwise CLEPS rule!
