ECE - Organizational Behavior Study Sugestions

Will be taking Org Behavior and Human Resources Management tests this Thursday. Just finished up the Barron's Human Resources book, hoping that it was going to cover the material of both tests. However, after attempting to answer the Org Behavior practice questions on Excelsior's site, and getting 10 of 25 right, it was fairly apparent the knowledge I received from that text was not going to cut it. Has anyone taken this test and done well, and if so what book did you use to study?

I'll probably head down to Borders this evening and look at what they have. Currently I have particular target in mind, because everything I found on Amazon was in the $100 range (yikes). Any help would be appreciated.

 

I have the one they recommend (third edition, you can find the name in the study guide) and I bought it for $4.00 from www.half.com. It looks like it covers everything on the test.

I don’t know how much this will help since you’re up against the clock.

I'm up for this one (Org. Behavior) next Monday, so it's time to start studying I guess. Did the exam pretty much follow the content guide? If so, I should be ok since I have an early edition of the recommended text to peruse this week. If not, well, I won't think about that .

 

Org Behavior Test

I just got around to take this test last week. I just used the online study guide I listed above and think I did well. I won't know for sure until I get my results back? but I felt good about the material.

I am just curious – why are you taking the ECE exam and not the DANTES exam? I took both DANTES Org Behavior and Human Resources Management and scored very well. I think the DANTES exams are easier than the ECE exams and they are cheaper.

 

I'm just guessing but I would say "Instant Feedback". I almost took the Excelsior test for that reason. If my company paid for the test I would have gone that way. I hate having to wait 4 weeks for a score.

COSC no longer gives upper level credit for many of the DANTES, so ECE are the only way. Also, they only let you have one and not both of, say, HRM DANTES and HRM ECE even though they count them as different levels of credit. I would have been done long ago if COSC had not changed their policy . In fact, it has been a PITA!

When I am done with the testing and my proposal has been accepted I will post a summary of my B.S. experience (pun? ).
