This must have been asked here before, but I don't see it.

I know excelsior awards 12 lower and 18 upper credits if you score higher than 80 percentile on the GRE psychology, but do they list which equivalent courses they are giving credit for or do they just say 30 credits in psych?

what would the excelsior transcript say?

all i've seen is on the BA in for weeks site
    http://www.bain4weeks.com/GREsubject.html

a research course in psychology is NOT awarded for the GRE exam, so you have to take the excelsior 'Research Methods in Psychology', or equivalent, no matter how well you do on the GRE

    Good question.

My memory is a little fuzzy, but...

    (1) The psych GRE appears on my diploma as two lines under "GRE Psychology," one granting 15 upper-level credits, the other granting 15 lower-level credits.

    (2) The psych GRE covers all introductory courses, but I'm not sure how more advanced courses are handled, especially now that the GRE has a sliding scale with variable credit. My vague memory is that I did not have to do a research course, and that my DANTES Lifespan Developmental Psychology was duplicated (but I could be wrong on the second point).

Has been asked before and I've given very detailed answer before, but I don't see it either.
    1. Right - they award 12 lower and 18 upper division credits for a score above the 80th percentile.

    2. No, they do not list course equivalents.

The detail in the transcripts is as follows:

    “GRE ADVANCED SUBJECT TESTS
    <date taken> ...................................................... 30 ........P”

Here, "30" is the number of credit hours awarded, and "P" signifies the credits are awarded as a pass grade.
Yup. It's no biggie though. If you have scored above the 80th percentile in the GRE, the ECE Research Methods will be no great challenge.
What more do you think should be included vis-à-vis the GRE subject exams, in BA in 4 Weeks?

GRE credit appears on the transcript undifferentiated by division level, no lower, no upper.

In fact, no mention of credit division level appears anywhere in the transcripts irrespective of how the credit may have been earned. Nor is there any provision of space in the transcripts where such differentiation might be noted.

The final version of my transcript, after two degrees lists the Political Science GRE as "27 . . . . P", and the Psychology GRE as "18 . . . . P". (1)

It is the case however, that the internal Excelsior program status reports, regularly sent to students before degree conferral, do list division level. These are not transcripts, however.

    (1) The deficits (from the original 30 credit hours awarded), are due to taking individual exams in the disciplines, then including the resulting letter graded passes on the transcript.

They certainly don't list equivalent courses on the transcript: just "GRE SUBJECT TESTS", the date, "PSYCHOLOGY", your numeric score, and as Tom says, one line for lower-lever credit and one line for upper-level credit, with "P" as the grade.

Which other psychology courses are duplicated depends on how many credits you get; you'll have to ask the advisors. My wife got 12 credits for the GRE. For what they said in her case, see:

This policy must have taken effect after June 1996; my transcript clearly lists two lines of credit for the GRE Psychology, and they are 15 lower-level/15 upper-level rather than 18 lower-level/12 upper-level.

I meant to say "transcript"; prospective and current Excelsior students will be happy to hear that credit sources are not printed on the diploma.
