I just noticed that GCU has added two new emphasis to their DBA program. They now offer marketing and data analytics. I was wondering if I have an MBA specialized in accounting how easily I can move into data analytics if I have no previous education in it. They only have one prerequisite to start the MBA.

    Will you be paying cash?

I will be using the renaming months on my GI bill which will cover about 70% of the tuition. if you take into account the BAH which I do because I have a full time job, the entire degree will be free. I need to use the GI bill no matter what because of the housing allowance and since I will already have a AACSB MBA I figured I should go for a DBA. Since the GI bill pays by months It benefits me to have a shorter degree which GCU offers that many of the better schools do not. Most doctorate programs would have me needing to pay like 20k out of pocket.

Looks really interesting, its more like selling the 'data analytics' hot term which is quite a 'big' thing and even if you are good in quantitative techniques or statistics without much exposure to IT side, you can still excel in that.. may be more about cashing the term, still people and companies don't know a lot about it :)

Well I plan to try and learn some of the programming that comes with Big Data on my own through some free software. This way I can lump it under the degree rather than having it as just being a self taught skill on my resume.
