Online MBA Degree, Short Term, Accredited, Legal ?

    Guys, pls help

I'm 16 yrs in the workforce, a seasoned professional, working with teams of people, totally satisfied in life and very happy in my career.. problem is I'm not from USA and settled here as an Resident Alien on a work visa. My lawyer tells me that doing a MBA degree will help my chances greatly for getting permanent residence in USA.

So please can you suggest :
    1. Online Degree (Legal and Accredited)
    2. Should be approximate 1 yr or less to complete.
    3. Affordable.
    4. Any field is ok but IT, business preferable.

I've completed a 3 year Bachelors Degree in commerce in 1999 and some courses after.

    Any help is appreciated.

so far looked at Regent University and Eastern New Mexico.

    Thanks.

I would suggest looking into Patten University. Patten offers an online, self-paced MBA . One may complete the program as quickly as they're able to get through the assignments. Another, similar option is Western Governors University (WGU ).

Patten and WGU are solid choices given your needs. But that also depends upon your ability to complete the coursework during that timeframe. With self-paced coursework, there is nothing hurrying you along.

So you can complete the coursework. But you should also be honest with yourself if you don't have the drive to actually motivate yourself to do the coursework (and do it with any appreciable speed).

Perhaps true in general, but in this case fear of deportation might be a bit inspiring.

Anyway, xclaim, since the U.S. doesn't have a points system for immigration, I wonder why your lawyer thinks an MBA will help. Are you in H-1B status and are looking to motivate your employer to sponsor you for permanent residency or something?

In my opinion, by far your best choice to complete an MBA in one year, AACSB accredited is LSU Shreveport. Here is the link: Online MBA Program | LSU Shreveport Online

$1,107.03 per three credit course, 7 week terms. You take two class per term and you can have your MBA in less than two years. Completely online.

Since I don't know your definition of affordable, I'm just going to provide a list of short-term MBA program offerings.

    University of Saint Mary:
One Year Online MBA Degree Program - Univ. of Saint Mary

    Benedictine University :
One Year MBA | Accelerated MBA Online | Benedictine University

    Webster University:
1 Year MBA | Webster University | Webster University

Corban University (**Disclaimer: I am a graduate of this program. The courses are 5 weeks in length and can be taken consecutively allowing you to finish in 16 months IF you can maintain that pace (which I did not). It can be tough... in the last half of my program I took 3 courses over a straight 15 week period with no breaks in the fall and felt overloaded.)

    American University:
    https://onlinebusiness.american.edu/.../one-year-mba/

    University of Florida :
Online MBA: One-Year | UF MBA | Warrington

    Maryville University:

    Concordia Chicago:
New One-Year Online MBA | Concordia University Chicago Graduate and Innovative Programs

Now there's a website I haven't seen in years. I had forgotten about it. Kind of surprised to see it's still up and running.

It's a bit dated, no longer comprehensive, but still a great starting point.

Having a Master's can help qualify for Employment Based Green Card, second priority category. Depending on the country of origin, that can mean much shorter wait time (compared to the third priority).

    P. S. I believe that for this, the school has to be nonprofit . Might be wrong...

I didn't know that. You'd think that schools would use that as a bullet point in their marketing to international students.
