Insurance is really several fields. There's actuarial science--the study of probabilities related to mortality, morbidity, other forms of loss, etc. Then there's finance, which is interwoven through life insurance. Then there's financial planning, in which insurance plays a huge role, including retirement planning. And, of course, sales. I'd be interested in seeing for whom this degree is designed.
