Thumbs up ACBSP International Conference in Barcelona!

    Greetings Degree Info Community!

I just wanted to spread the good word about ACBSP and extend an invitation to the upcoming conference in Barcelona.

As you probably have heard, ACBSP is experiencing tremendous growth and much of this growth is occurring overseas.

The International Conference occurs over Thankgiving weekend this year, and as in years past, and as with Brussels 2013, and Athens 2014; ACBSP is allied with its Region 8, the International Council of Business Schools and Programs.

This years theme is cutting edge---'Creating New Knowledge in the Classroom' with a push for papers that motivate groundbreaking theoretical perspectives.

There are two publication opportunities organic to this conference, the Region 8 Journal, a going concern since Paris 2009, and the Transnational Journal of Business, which is launching its first issue directly. A good indicator of success and interest, is the overall number and quality of scholarly papers vying for placement, with these numbers being up over years past.

As an event known for its strong sense of community. The Intl Conf is a great opportunity to network with schools of many different types i.e. federal, public, private, for-profit, not for profit, distance, online, faith-based, HBCU's and at different stages of the process i.e. newly accredited, seeking accreditation, facing a QA report or a 10 year re-affirmation visit; meet a wide variety of academic colleagues, secure a chance for a global partnership opportunity---all while finding value in business accreditation.

Finally, what a great time of the year to visit Barcelona!

    $500 members, $650 non-members through Nov 1, then going up by $100.

Not cheap, but participation, well it's a proactive accreditation strategy on the part of the schools to send a rep.

Cool ACBSP Barcelona 'Creating New Knowledge in the Classroom In 4 days. Next year Dubai.

Region 8 which is the largest of ACBSP's international divisions is hosting next year's event in Dubai. There is some talk of expanding the focus away from scholarly papers on the conference theme, accreditation and collaboration, by bringing in some student involvement through real world case competitions as well as through competitive online business simulation. Getting people to travel can be fairly difficult but Dubai is quite easy to get to for an international destination.
