Trying to hit a home run with this. Looking for RA masters (prefer not MBA because too many credits required and too many pre reqs needed) in Management, Operations, Supply Chain, etc with 8 week (or 5 week even better) courses. I am not overly concerned with pedigree or name brand but must be RA. Need to advance to a state program that only accepts RA masters (any subject, especially with my resume and experience). Any info is appreciated. I am familiar with Fort Hays, Amberton, Wayne (MBA) which are low cost but am looking for a more accelerated program and STILL low cost. I have my GMAT. Of course I'm asking for a lot, but that's the name of the game, right?! Thanks for any info you might provide. Greatly appreciated!

Thanks Steve. Had forgotten WGU. Ruled it out on cost a while ago but after looking at the website again, could potentially knock it out for between $10 and $13k. Not the cheapest but still very competitive.

WGU's MBA doesn't have any prerequisites except for professional work experience. If you can finish the program in a year, it will only cost you $6500. Patten University is another option. They are self-paced and charge around $2,000 per 4-month term. IIRC, their only prerequisites are microeconomics and college algebra.

I just finished the WGU MBA in well under a term - if you can manage that, it will cost you just one term's tuition - pretty much a deal however you slice it. Have two friends that just did it in under a term as well so I'm certainly nothing special. No pre-reqs other than a resume and a bachelors degree.

I liked this program a lot. Even ran out and took the GMAT for it. Still giving me grief for a "conditional admission" because my TESC degree has no GPA. Also, now up to $837.50 per course ($262.50 per credit + $50 tech fee). Still a great deal and option, no doubt, especially for the name recognition. Liking the WGU option a little better. Hard to find any decent recent reviews though. Either fanboy rants that sound fake or complete angry nightmares. For what I need though, it might make the most sense.

Thanks everyone for the solid and insightful suggestions.

I reviewed my WGU MBA journey as I went through it here: a little WGU MBA review....

I finished in early 2014, some things have changed but even with the new exams/quizzes I think 1-2 semesters should be quite doable. I spent 14 months earning mine, but took time off in the middle and deliberately held off on finishing in order to maximize my employer reimbursement.

I considered that program at Arkansas but was turned off by the GMAT requirement. I started the Independent Studies Masters at WNMU but hated the 15 week format, WGU fixed that for me.

You must be talking about the MBA. The MSOM and the MSEE do not require a GMAT nor the GRE, never had to this point. These programs are proven and reputable, hard but doable.

Respectfully, I had the same issue and was only interested in the MSOM. Without a GPA (2.5-3.0) a GMAT was a requirement for admission. Only reason I bothered to take it and took it cold and did well enough but by then I was turned off.

I finished the 'new' WGU MBA June 1st. Feel free to ask whatever questions you like. I started March 1st. I also did a BSN at WGU, so I was already familiar with the routine and that helped with the speedy finish. Total cost was $3250 plus $140ish resource fee.

Doing it in under a term can be a little dicey unless you had the extra time I had and/or are extremely motivated, but a year would be cake IMO.

The classes are about 1/2 tests and 1/2 papers/projects, although one of the tests is rumored to be changing to a project within the next month.
