Well I am scheduled to graduate 5/31 from COSC woohoo! I have one problem I have 59.90 credits of Liberal Arts Studies and I need 60 (there is no way they will ROUND this!:puppy_dog_eyes:). Anyone know where I can get one liberal art credit super fast and cheap from?

I already completed the 2 liberal arts FEMA classes. I have two general education tests: Astronomy and Environment and Humanity which will count as my Science and Global understanding credits remaining.

Would just taking another CLEP or DSST exam be the best way to go?

Could you use TEEX? I believe it's free. This would probably end up in free electives as opposed to liberal arts, I'm not familiar with COSC policies.

I am maxed on free electives. I need liberal arts credit only at this point. My concentration is Information Systems so a lot of my credits have been systems and business related.

How did you end up with .9 of a credit hour? Not sure if I've heard of that before.

I'd suggest changing your Astronomy test to one worth 6 credits. It's only worth 3, so changing it to a 6 credit course would be both liberal arts and meet your science requirement.

I know that Penn Foster has an Art Appreciation and a Music Appreciation that can be done quickly and they are cheap.

If eligible, take the Analyzing and Interpreting Literature CLEP. At 6 credits it's overkill for your needs, but it's a glorified literacy test, so you'll be in, out, and done.

I second the Analyzing and Interpreting Literature CLEP. That's my "go to" CLEP exam as an academic advisor for my business students.

I second the motion. Quickest 6 hours you'll ever earn. When I was doing my BA I remember being concerned about the Analyzing and Interpreting Literature CLEP. It sounded intimidating! I nailed it along with the English Comp w/essay...12 hours, boom!

By chance are you already PADI scuba certified? If so, ACE has evaluated the openwater course for 1 credit. See http://www.padi.com/scuba/uploadedFiles/Scuba_Diving_Guide/Start_Scuba_Diving/Scuba_Lessons_for_College_Credit/10313TransReqForm.pdf

NAUI and other agencies may be ACE reviewed also.

Thanks for all the suggestions. I have already passed the AI lit CLEP. I can take a 6 credit science but biology seems really daunting for study in just over a week, do you thinks it's feasible?

I transferred credits from a school with quarter hours so my classes are worth 3.3 credits each instead of even numbers so that is how I ended up with the .9 total.

It's $519 - but my daughter completed a BYU Independent Study speech course in one week:

Public Speaking : - TMA 150 - BYU Independent Study - Online Courses

Also, would DSST - Intro to World Religions work?

I think the Intro to World Religions will work for the DSST. I looked at the master list but it doesn't tell me how feasible it is to pass these tests. I reviewed free prep clep to see difficulty also but any 1 liberal arts credit will do. Seems like I will be taking the astronomy dsst, intro to world religions, and environment and humanity in the next two weeks. I have taken the A & I Lit and passed with a 71 and just took the Civil War and Reconstruction DSST and passed with a 426. So hopefully these will be successful also and EASIER!
