    Hello,

New to this forum and was originally brought here via a HES thread which I'm not looking to ignite. :privateeye:

I am part-way through my Masters of Accounting at The University of Melbourne MBS and thought I'd look into an MBA program, and am considering the following:

    London Business School

    Stanford GSB

I don't know how to separate London and Stanford, one is pommy, the other yank. London is well known, Stanford is well known, both are top-tier education providers, both charge a fortune...

Can anyone help me separate London and Stanford in terms of what they offer?

I had considered Duke, but its just not a strong enough brand in Australia/New Zealand.

Depends on what you want to do with it. If you are planning on working in finance, I would suggest joining the forum wallstreetoasis.com and asking your question there.

Personally, I have no idea which school has the stronger network in Australia/New Zealand (and make no mistake, the network is what you are paying for). If you plan on having a more international career, a focus on US or European markets would help dictate which school you may wish to chose.

    Thanks very much mcjon77.

That's exactly what I'm looking to get out of the MBA - to meet people; broaden my network and connections.

The biggest factor for me is the network, the people who go to the institution, their ability, mindset and goals. Obviously we can't explicitly categorise a University's students, but they all have a reputation for one thing or another, so hopefully I can get an idea of what they are.

I'll take a look at wallstreetoasis.com and will have a try over the next couple of days :)
