Redundancy?

I am looking towards my next Masters program, but I am a little concerned about being redundant.

I am working on my MA inManagement and Leadership, and considering going for SNHU's MS inOperations and Project Management.

I am currently employed in the transportation industry.

In your opinions, would this degree compliment my other education or would it seem a bit redundant?

    Thank you.

While I appreciate the value in a MA/MS, I would caution you in using the education as a buffer to get you into Project Management. If you want to impress someone, get your PMP credential and some real life experience to show you actually know what youre doing or at least have worked directly for someone who knows what they are doing and have been obtaining the requisite knowledge. For instance, I worked as the HSE Supervisor on a heavy industrial project last year, 7 months & 1.5 million manhours no lost time incidents, and all 3 of the main players (Project Man., Construction Man., Commisioning Man.) did not have degrees and only real world experience.
The degree may get your foot in the door, but more than likely you will be a "trainee" or low level position for quite a while.

PS: Maybe you have the experience but I am posting as if you are trying to break into the project world.

The PMP (or CAPM) is definitely on my radar.

I won't be using the MS to get into the PM world, I don't think.

I wanted to have others' opinions on the MSOPM from SNHU in regards to a budding career in the transportation industry, or any first hand experiences with the program or school in general.

Thank you for the informative post.
