Hello all, I've been an avid reader of this forum for quite a while, however this is my first post. I'm looking for a MBA/MS online dual degree. I'd like to keep the MS in information technology, but I am open to others. I've done much searching online, but really haven't found a great answer. Price isn't really an issue, as I'm using the Post 9/11 GI Bill, and have enough of it left to cover both degrees. My undergrad was in Management Information Systems, which gives me a basis of learning and understanding of both business and IT. I currently work as a Senior SharePoint Developer, but I'm looking to use these Master's degree to help with a career change into the management realm. I'm rather exhausted with development. I realize I may have to take a pay cut to do so, as I'm considered a senior developer and get paid accordingly. Luckily I'm only 28 with no debt so the income differential shouldn't be a huge hit. Sorry for the run-ons. I'm trying to get my fingers to type what my brain is spitting out in as orderly of a fashion as possible. Looking forward to your responses -Paradox4286
Here are some of your options: - University of Maryland - University College - DePaul University - Purdue University
Thank you for the help. I looked into those programs, but I think at the current time it was best for me to go just strictly with the MBA. I will get an MS afterwards.
I was reading your post and I think you are right in chosing to stick with the MBA... If you want a career change, you might as well focus on the business/management side, rather than increase your value as a specialized IT professional. With your current degree and extensive work experience, I am sure you that your technical expertise is sufficient for you to manage complexe IT projects from a managerial position.
