Could someone comment on the academic rigor of Troy State's BS/MS degree in the business areas? Although I welcome all posts regardless of BS/MS, I'm particularly interested if anyone has is working on a MS in Taxation online. Thank you for any info you can offer.

Working on Troy's BS Management program now, so far courses across the board in accounting, statistics, and business law haven't been too difficult, or too easy for that matter. Most of the classes have required weekly discussion board postings and quizzes, as well as 2 to 3 tests per course. A few of the professors post some slides and links to other sources to help digest the material, a few have just left it up to the required textbooks. Depending on the professor, you might get some extra credit opportunities, keep up with the discussion forums and take the EC opportunities if offered. Only the final exam in each class was proctored.

Personally I plan on leaving Troy's program as soon as I can get a good start date at another school, as the academic advisors I've worked with don't seem to have looked at their own college catalog when it comes to transfer credit for general education courses. I keep getting asked take a third science course with lab and another drama course when I've already got a BS when the catalog states that general ed courses "could" be waived in that situation. The academic advisors didn't want to even consider that possibility, preventing me from taking any higher level business courses until I finish the extra science and drama course.
