Does anybody have any experience with Amberton University in Texas? I have been accepted into a master's degree program there. You can get an entire MBA, or any of their degrees, etc., for about $10,000, and yes they are regionally accredited by SACS. I hear the school work is strenuous, and uber tough. Anybody got any comments?

I have no experience with them, but since you also asked for comments, I do like their purpose statement:
Amberton University - About Us - Purpose Statement

... mainly because a Christian school appeals to me.

    Look at this stuff:

    "
    That spiritual commitment, tolerating no excuse for mediocrity, demands the highest standards of academic excellence;

That truth, having nothing to fear from investigation, must be pursued relentlessly;"

I like that they don't allow excuses for mediocrity, and that they believe in a relentless pursuit of the truth. That is something that I can agree with. If I am ever blessed with a child, that is how I would raise him or her (with love).

Please do let us know how it goes. :)

For 10k, you are getting a great school degree with a good reputation. Good choice!

Have you decided on a degree? I took one graduate level class with Amberton about 2 years ago. I completed about 2/3 of it prior to transferring to Bellevue University. I really liked the brief experience I had with them. The work in the first class (Leadership Theory) was challenging, but nothing over the top. Their customer service was also quite good. The only reason I transferred to Bellevue was because I found the "perfect degree" for me. I would definitely endorse Amberton and have not ruled them out for a second masters degree in the future.

You can also take a look at Chadron State College. Their graduate degrees are also under $10k and they are also regionally accredited.

I just completed my MBA at Amberton and loved every minute of the experience. It is a great school and (most) of my professors were wonderful. It was not easy by any means but I think I got a really good education for a bargain price.

I have a buddy that completed his MS in Managerial Science at Amberton and is very satisfied with his experience.

Peru State College is also very affordable. They have a pretty campus with lots of trees. What more do you need?

Many years ago when its name was just Amber I tried to enrolled into the MBA by distance. As a foreigner I got the impression it was not going to be easy. Access to online ed. has changed a lot. Amberton has an excellent reputation from the many students' reviews I have read. A bit of trivia for the OP, currently Amber ranks just under 5000 in the world, Pretoria ranks 387.

Amberton's "campus" is located near me and I work with several of their graduates. In my very brief and limited interaction with the school, I was very impressed and kind of wish I had taken my MBA studies through them rather than Ashford (simply due to cost...no other reason). The grads I work with praise the school and from what I have seen they are a high quality institution which focuses exclusively on working adults. For the price, they might be the best bargain around.

Thanks for posting about Amberton. I've been looking at Graduate schools to apply to once I am done with my B.S. Pretty hard to beat that tuition.

Here is another $10,000 MBA option for you: MBA Online | Fitchburg State University

There are only 10 courses and they are offered in a 7-week format. This makes it roughly the same cost at Amberton, but taking 1 class at a time, will allow you finish a year earlier.
