    Hello everyone,

I am looking to earn a bba in either finance, international business, marketing or management from a well accredited institution.

I would like to be able to complete the program in 2 years if possible

So I was wondering if you could give me some options on universities which will allow me to make the best use of CLEP to speed up the process or have a good fast track program.

    Thank you!

    Thank You.

I have noted the big 3 from previous forum comments but am not sure why they are called the Big 3.

Charter Oak is out due to the fact that i could only find Bachelors in General Studies.
Thomas Edison is interesting and i might choose it if i decide for the BS or BA in Business Admin.
Excelsior only offers a bs in business with concentration so its not what i am looking for though the fact they give a duel MBA is interesting.

I will likely make use of Excelsior credit by exam along with CLEP and Dantes.

The accreditation i was interested in was AACSB as I work in Asia and AACSB is an international accreditation.

Ironically of the Big 3... only charter oak which i discarded as an option was ranked at 15 by usnews.

Thomas Edison and Excelsior remained unranked.

They're called the "Big 3" because they were--and remain--the only three schools built around the model of assessing learning done elsewhere and applying it to degrees. And each enrolls tens of thousands of students who are doing just that. Three. Big. "Big 3."

(NB: I've often wondered why no one has started a for-profit on this model.)

Did you notice all of the concentrations (including business administration) that are part of the general studies program?

I don't understand why Excelsior College is considered an "online" school? It's more a non traditional school that accepts credits from numerous sources and offers a few courses online!

No one is going to care about the ranking of online programs. If you look at the methodology for that list, it doesn't really say much about the quality of the education or public perception. It's more about distance customer service and student satisfaction. Rutgers' online programs are also unranked. Do you think an employer is going to be more impressed by Rutgers, ranked #68 among national universities, or Charter Oak? In most cases, your transcript and diploma won't say "online."

Excelsior offers a lot of online courses. Unlike COSC and TESC, I believe Excelsior only offers degree programs that can be completed 100% through EC courses. COSC and TESC offer all of the necessary courses for several degree programs, but they offer more that require transfer credits. That's why EC's degree selection is so much smaller than TESC's.

Well i've more or less decided on TESC.

I can truly see the attraction for these institutions due to their flexibility.

Question though would you recommend continuing with the same institution for a Master or would you recommend another college?

No. TESC's MBA is too expensive for what it offers. There are a few online, AACSB-accredited MBA programs that are cheaper.

Thanks and whats your opinion about Excelsiors duel Bs and Mba program?

Also Are there any opinions about Upper Iowa University, Columbia College, Limestone university or Troy University with their bachelors program? Using geteducated search they are all regionally accredited.

There are some MBA programs--traditional ones, all--that make distinctions around a B.A., B.S., or BBA when it comes to business degrees. Employers couldn't care less.

thanks for the help everyone but i have opted for UIU mostly due to the fact that an independent center can be found in Malaysia and their course seems interesting.

I am going thorough UIU credit policy and i need some help deciphering one part of it.

For EXAM College Composition Credits 6 APPLIED AS UIU COURSE ENG101 OR USED AS and 3 credits of electives.

So i understand that College composition gives 6 credits for the course equivalent of eng101 but what does "and 3 credits of electives" mean?

Looking at Gen Ed requirement Basic composition is 3 credits and english composition II is worth 3 credits. Does that mean College Composition alone meets the requirement of both compositions or does it mean that College composition is worth 6 credits which meets basic composition requirements +3 credits for the total of 6 credits.
