Is there a regionally accredited university or college that offers a non-degree student an online (or even by snail mail) doctoral course in business that is self-paced and that allows a minimum of 6 months for completion? I'm an adjunct instructor of business at a small vocational college, and in order to keep my position, I'm required to complete at least one doctoral course every three years. Can someone help--or am I asking for a miracle? Thanks!
In US, your best bet is Columbia Southern University. Most (if not all) of their Doctoral classes/courses can be taken standalone without having to enroll in their Doctoral program. In Europe, this concept is more popular, and many Universities/institutions offer them.
Columbia Southern University is not regional accredited, but it is a good option. The only US school provides this method is Northcentral University; however, I believe up to 16 weeks only. The only problem UK schools offer only research base, no course work except research modules.
This really isn't business, but Fielding Graduate University has a Doctorate in Human and Organizational System which I believe is self-paced. You can read more about it here: Fielding Graduate University - Handbook - Academic Policies Length of Study Most of Fielding's academic programs are student paced, and the time necessary for completion of a degree or certificate may vary widely. Typically, doctoral students take four to six years to complete their degree programs at Fielding. All students in self-paced programs are expected to complete their programs in no more than ten years from the date of matriculation. Students entering into the clinical PhD program in May 2012 or later must complete the program in no more than 8 years.
NCU has a doctoral level CAGS in business. You can enroll as a non-degree seeking student and take a single course or enroll in the CAGS and take 6 courses and graduate with a certificate at the end. Online University, Online Degrees & Online Graduate Degrees | Northcentral University I am enrolled in the CAGS Business and was enrolled in the PhD Business. I just switched to the CAGS so I have an easy exit and can come back into the PhD with no credit loss at any time.
Would this work for you? Students holding a master's degree who are interested in pursuing their Ph.D. in Human Capital Management are invited to enroll as either a Certificate of Completion student or Ph.D. student. Bellevue University / The Ph.D in Human Capital Management / Admission
Yes at Northcentral University, you can take single non-degree classes any time. The business ones are 8 weeks in length.
