Anyone have any knowledge of the following program? PhD Program: Lehrstuhl für Corporate Finance It seems I thought of this school after I read somewhere that someone referred to it as an option for a limited residency PhD. I am only able to find vague references to being able to complete a PhD in Finance via distance. I would sure appreciate any info on this. I'm looking for a way to get an AACSB PhD/DBA in Finance with limited residency and am trying to see what all the options are. Thanks
Just a suggestion. Grenoble Ecole de Management is triple-accredited - AACSB EQUIS and AMBA. Here's their DBA page: DBA Program - Grenoble Ecole de Management A quote: "It can also cover more traditional research topics in the fields of management, finance, marketing, organizational behaviour, etc." (Emphasis mine - Johann) Another point in the school's favour: limited residencies, which can all be done in US or other locations. BTW - the Mannheim page said: for info on external Ph.D. in Finance - contact Prof. Ernst Maug. His page is here: http://cf.bwl.uni-mannheim.de/maug+M5cafeaa1637.html Johann
I have no real experience with Phd's in Germany myself, but normally it is very hard to do an Phd at a school you have not done your previous studies and some research work and networked with your the "Doktorvater" - basically your tutor. So I am not sure how easy it will be for a foreign student. But aside these administrative obstacles, Mannheim is considered as the best school in Germany for business studies.
