Due to less than 90th percentile GRE scores and having a BS from WGU which doesnt rank a GPA, I am not able to get into a top tiered MBA program. But I have been offered admission to two AACSB accredited MBA programs. On is Drexel LeBow MBA at their Sacramento Campus which is near to my house. The other is TAMU-Commerce online MBA program. The TAMU is considerably cheaper but is an online program instead of on campus. The Drexel is expensive but I can cut the tuition down a bit because I qualify for a fellowship. Which should I choose? Is their any significant difference in name or prestige? Or is it a crapshoot that doesnt really matter?
I view it as a crapshoot that doesn't really matter and vote for going with the one that is the least expensive. How much will the fellowship cut off the Drexel tuition?
The fellowship will cut almost $13k off the total tuition but it will still be more expensive than TAMU-Commerce, although to a lesser degree.
Drexel has a great name but maybe you should take the MBA which offers courses best suited to your career.
I'd go with Drexel simply because it's on campus and provides better networking opportunities. Just my two cents.
Even though I am a Texas resident; yet considering the two listed options (online or Sacramento satellite campus), as regards Brand identification –Drexel (LeBow) … hands-down.
I would recommend Drexel University's MBA as well. Of course, not many prospective employers ask you how you earn your degree. But sometimes, telling them that satellite program is better than online. Besides, Drexel is ranking higher than TAMU at Commerce. Most of the time school's reputation does matter...
