I have always wanted to go to the University of Michigan, problem being, I have been born and raised in California. (Details, Details, lol.)

I was playing around on their website when I discovered the Ross School of Business offering graduate certificate programs online. However, I am not looking for a business certificate but I noticed they offer a self designed certificate program.

I did some research but I cannot find out what criteria they use to evaluate the self designed graduate certificate program, nor can I determine what it costs. Does anyone here have any information on their certificate programs?

It looks to me like the certificates are issued after attendance at some short-term, but rather expensive, B&M programs.

Your link has the following at the bottom:

OK, so look at the program calendar.

The current program is "Theory and Practice of Investor Relations", running from August 12 to 17. If we look into this specific program, we find that it is held in Ann Arbor and costs $8,300.

If that's not a good fit, the next program is "Strategic Human Resource Planning" running from September 24-28. This program is also held in Ann Arbor, and it costs $9,450.

The next scheduled program is for "Emerging Leaders" running from October 1-5. This program is also in Ann Arbor for $9,450.

It's not clear how many of these you need to complete in order to earn a certificate. But you probably need several, and they cost nearly $10,000 apiece, plus transportation to/from Ann Arbor (accommodations and meals are included). You still interested?

Thanks CalDog, I couldn't locate that information. The price seems to rich for my blood, which is unfortunate because I have always wanted to attend UM.

The certificate program represents "Executive Education", and it appears to target people who have access to a lot of cash, either through personal wealth or corporate sponsors.

Alternatively, there are a number of UM online degree options at UM-Dearborn and UM-Fliint.

I don't think the UM Ross School of Business executive education programs linked above would generally be considered "graduate certificates" per se. None of the courses appear to offer degree-level credit; the program is listed under "Open Programs" for "Lifelong Learning and Continuous Improvement."

I noticed that as well. I didn't know if it was worded differently or if it was one in the same, meaning executive education was another phrase for graduate studies.

"Executive education" = a way for wealthy people or people with wealthy sponsors to part with large sums of money

Wikipedia describes "Executive Education" like this:

Such programs are often regarded as "cash cows" for business schools.
