    Hi everybody

Looking for a good dl course in order to give a boost to my career, i decided eventually for heriot watt business school and exactly for the msc in human resource management (cheap, flexible, good reputation). Because i m 34 years old, graduated in political science in italy (masters degree) but with NO WORK EXPERIENCE in the hr, i wanted ask if this course is fitted for me or, instead, for ppl (managers) already working there and with job experience.
I know that heriot watt has good reputation in the uk but i didnt find informations about the placement for this specific course or ppl that graduated here so i m still undecided.
    Can someone help me??

    greetings

As big of a fan of Heriot-Watt that I am, I generally advise against doing any distance learning program when they are trying to change careers. The networking aspect is important, and that is something you rarely get to do successfully with a DL program.

A better option may be to pursue an HR certification. In the US, that would be the PHR or SPHR through the Society of Human Resource Management. They also have local chapters where you can network and attend meetings. I don't know what the equivalent society would be in Italy however.

thanks a lot for your answer.. u r right about the "network" issue. it d be difficult to find a job after u have spent years at home studying alone with no bonds with an academic/business enviroinment.. but i swear i have been looking for months any alternative to this msc and i found anything.. i had thought to get a cipd certification but i discovered they offer them only in uk (classroom or dl). So i dont know what to do.. i cannot take any us or canadian hr certifications cause the d be useless in europe (right?). anyway if there's a former hr student of this msc or someone with a hint about hr certifications for careers here in europe would be really great. thanks all.
