Any Online PhD/DBA universities AACSB accredited?

From what Ive read, that seems to be the gold standard for accreditation. Are there any online universities that offer this or is it primarily reserved for 'brick and mortar' universities?

There are a couple in the USA:

KSU Coles College of Business - DBA Program

Doctor of Management - Weatherhead School of Management

What is the goal with the DBA/PhD?

    Ph.D. - Capella University
M.B.A. - The University of Akron

I posted my goals in another thread but for some reason it isnt showing, so Ill repost here.

I have a bachelors in Business Admin, and an MBA . I actually am having difficulty in deciding which doctoral avenue to pursue. My goals are I want to be CEO one day of a Fortune 50 company. In retirement I want to teach, but that is a good 30 years away, so not sure if that should be considered now. I didnt know if getting a DBA would be too 'narrow' or linear since I would have BBA -MBA -DBA, of if that is the preferred course for my goals. My other train of thought was to get a PhD in something related to business, like Org Leadership, or something even a little further stretch like I/O Psychology ...

Maybe someone can shed light on which way I should go for my goals, DBA, DM, or PhD??

As far as the accreditation, Im a little confused as to which is 'better' than another. As of now, I need to keep working full time so online is my only method to pursue the degree, and have read that AACSB seems to be the gold standard, but please correct me if Im wrong. I dont want to get the degree and find out the place I got it from will be laughed at or looked down upon in the market place.

FYI, current places I am considering thus far for DM/DBA/PhD

Capella , Walden, UMUC, Eastern, UofP.

    Thanks

The Case Western Reserve (Weatherhead) DM is not an online doctoral program. It is however “…a three-year lockstep program with an option to pursue the Designing Sustainable Systems track in the PhD in Management Program.”
Doctor of Management - Weatherhead School of Management

Likewise, the Kennesaw State (Coles) DBA requires numerous residencies.

    Shawn,
Certainly not exclusively DL, but here’s three more AACSB:

Oklahoma State University (Spears): PhD in Business for Executives
“The program is offered in an executive format requiring four days a month for 10 months a year in residencies. Classes are also supplemented by online interaction.”

Anil, scroll up and look at the British universities, specifically Strathclyde, Manchester Business School, and Durham University. Unfortunately, there is nothing in North America that meets your criteria.

    Good luck,

You might not find an AACSB accredited DBA program for $35K. Aston DBA is about 35k UK Sterling Pounds. You can also look at my favorite - Grenoble DBA. Its about Euro 44K. Both are AACSB, EQUIS and AMBA accredited and they do have payment plans. I got admission into Grenoble DBA but decided not to pursue DBA for personal reasons.

    Grenoble has DBA programs in

Lebanon (Lebanese Canadian University in Beirut)

Saudi Arabia (College of Business Administration in Jeddah)

Abu Dhabi (Higher Colleges of Technology)

India ( Institute of Management Technology -IMT, Ghaziabad).

Here is the link for you to explore more.

DBA (Doctor of Business Administration) - Grenoble Ecole de Management

    http://www.grenoble-em.com/default.aspx?rub=291

Grenoble Ecole de Management is one of the few business schools (1% of schools worldwide) to possess the three accreditations that distinguish the leading international business schools: EQUIS (European Quality Improvement System), AACSB (The Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business) and AMBA (The Association of MBAs)

Back in 2009, the University of Florida University of Florida announced plans to launch an online DBA. Not sure whether this ever came to fruition.

I had no idea that this could be completed 100% online... Maybe we will see an AACSB Ph.D completely online soon.

The University of Liverpool is recently receiving AACSB accreditation; however, the distance learning DBA existed before that. Therefore, the current rule that residency is optional. I do not know whether they are going to change that in the future as part of AACSB requirement or not.

    Tekman,

University of Liverpool is not receiving AACSB accreditation, they got it. Even with a 100% online DBA:

I applied to Grenoble a couple of years ago but backed out due to family obligations. It’s true they require a 10-15 page research proposal before admittance.

I found out from degreeinfo that University of Liverpool is offering an AACSB accredited 100% distance DBA.
I was going to apply back at Grenoble this year but realized that with approx. 6 visits to the USA school and 2 trips to France, University of Liverpool would be a lot less expensive then Grenoble. Also, I run the risk of my employer not approving the trips. Additionally, I have small children who would find it very difficult if I was gone. If I was single or my children were older, the residencies would be a lot easier. Furthermore, with University of Liverpool , I could start now instead of waiting till November.
University of Liverpool is part of the Russell Group, AACSB accredited , and have an on ground University that has been in existence since the late 1800s. The DBA program has 9 modules that can all be completed online; however, 2 of them have a residency option. So if you want to do the residency two of them can be done at the University of Liverpool . You can actually complete the module quicker by doing the short residency for it. I just applied at University of Liverpool in January and my first class starts February 7. So far I have been impressed with their quick responses, and their training module, which covers how to use their online system and tips on how to plan your study every week.

Also, keep in mind (in the USA) that you can get a $2,000.00 per year lifelong learning tax credit and if your state has a 529 plan you can get a deduction for that. For me it comes to approx. $2,300.00 per year in savings on the tuition.
By the way I looked into University of Surrey, which was less expensive and they are not taking students for their DBA program at this time.

Email me at Jacob_mct@yahoo.com, if you want more information about the University of Liverpool .
