I believe it will be hard to find any aacsb school that waives the GMAT. If you're in CA, I would say that the CSU system would have the most affordable options. CSU Dominguez Hills has an online MBA: CSU Online MBA. There is a GMAT requirement but they say that the minimum scoring requirement is a 450. The top GMAT score is 800 so you could get a 450 without ever studying for the test. The program is also regionally and aacsb accredited. Tuition is $440/unit with 30 units required for completion, so it's not *super* cheap, but it's a pretty good deal. I'm sure some other members will list even more options in CA.

Also, Cal State Monterey Bay has an online EMBA program with no GMAT: California State University Online Executive MBA Program | Online Graduate Degree Program. It's obviously regionally accredited but I don't know about AACSB. I'm not sure about tuition either, but since it's EMBA, I'm sure it'll be more than a regular MBA.

CSUMB does not have AACSB accreditation. It's certainly possible that they might get it the future -- most of the other schools in the Cal State University system have it -- but there is no timetable that I am aware of.

This is of interest to me as well. I wouldn't mind finding an instate MBA/master's < $20000, and it seems only National U (not AACSB, but does have IACBE) would fill that bill at the moment. I'd prefer not to have to sit the GRE/GMAT, but depending on how the calendar works out I could squeeze in a month or so worth of prep if I had to.

Aren't executive MBAs viewed differently than regular MBAs? Will these degrees suffice for online adjunct teaching?

No MBA is going to suffice for adjuncting unless you take the proper electives to give you a total of 18 grad credits in one functional area. An MBA is a generalist degree, it reaches across disciplines.

Thanks-- that answers a fair number of questions for me.

I saw an intriguing program listed a few days ago from an RA school-- Master of Business Ethics (with an emphasis on compliance issues). I take it finding adjunct positions with this degree would be difficult as there are so few programs of this nature?

I recommend getting an MBA with a concentration in...something. The other option is an MBA plus a graduate certificate in something.

Most all AACSB business schools will officially require the GMAT; however though not California based, the programs below are online AACSB EMBA /MBA programs w/published GMAT Waiver Policies:

Washington State University online EMBA: GMAT may be waived for qualified candidates (e.g., “If you have a current GRE score, we can evaluate the score for possible replacement of the GMAT.").
Executive MBA Program - Online Executive MBA Program - Washington State University

The CSU-Dominguez Hills online MBA, which was mentioned in post #2 above, is also < $20,000. If you have a bachelor's degree in business, the MBA is 30 units @ $440/unit, or $13,200. If your bachelor's was in an unrelated field, then you might need up to four additional two-unit "bridge" courses, at $880 each.

CSU-DH is one of the few CSUs that lacks AACSB accreditation, but it does have ACBSP. The GMAT is required for admission, but the acceptable minimum score is relatively low, as noted above.

In terms of cost and name recognition, the CSU-DH MBA program seems competitive with the one at National University.

ULM's Gateway to Online Degrees (GOLD): The Master of Business Administration (MBA)
    Applicants must:

    (1) Meet all of the general requirements for admission to the Graduate School.

    (2) Submit a satisfactory Graduate Management Admission Test (GMAT) or Graduate Record Exam score (Minimum of 450 GMAT or GRE equivalent).

The College of Business will waive the GMAT/GRE admission requirement for ULM undergraduate students majoring in traditional business programs who graduate with a cumulative undergraduate GPA of at least 3.2. This entry option is contingent upon ULM business graduates beginning their MBA classes within two years of receiving their BBA degree.

I think the degree is under $10K.

ULM probably has one of the lower priced online AACSB MBA offerings available because online students pay the same tuition rate as Louisiana residents.

    Tuition Rate

    Can you please tell me where you found this? I looked the other day and disregarded their program because of the non-resident fee listed here;

The least expensive AACSB MBA that I am aware of is Jacksonville State University. Last I checked, the tuition was just under $10k

Regionally accredited, it depends on ENMU (ACBSP accredited). Eastern New Mexico University allows (allowed?) out-of-state students to pay in-state tuition for up to six credits per semester, but some sources mention that they have increased their fees for out-of-state students even though the website itself still says $180.5/credit. Hmm... it might be a good idea to send someone an email over there and see.

Other than that, there is the $250 x 30 credit = $7500 MBA from Wayne State College and the $235 x 36 credit = $8640 MBA from Amberton University

WSC - Master of Business Administration

I didn't check the information for the GMAT, but some schools waive the requirement for those who have high undergraduate GPAs.

Look at number 3 - ULM's Gateway to Online Degrees (GOLD): Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

Tuition for online courses in the GOLD degree programs is the same as the tuition for on-campus courses. For non-Louisiana residents, the out-of-state fees are waived for the online degree student.

Click here to visit ULM's Office of the Controller Web site. Fee schedules for each semester (Fall, Spring, Summer I and Summer II) are available as a PDF download.

If you have any questions, feel free to contact us at [email protected].

I can't believe I missed that. Thanks bunches.

$6500.00 for AACSB is a great price.

...but to get that price, you have to have a pretty hectic schedule. In fact, if you want the degree for $5190, you can finish it in two semesters :firedevil:
