Can anybody speak to Concordia University's reputation? I am looking at their new MBA program, which I believe started last year (2010). The Concordia MBA - Concordia University Texas

Any thoughts or input would be appreciated.

    Thanks.

In that this (Concordia) brand new (Fall 2010) 24-month general MBA and is also a cohort (lock-step) designed (not online /DL) program; if you have industry experience and are seeking a cohort program, I’d also consider additional EMBA options from more established MBA programs. Moreover, Concordia University Texas’ (Austin) College of Business Administration has IACBE (just recently CHEA recognized) programmatic accreditation; the far less recognized business school accrediting agency as compared to AACSB or even ACBSP.

Baylor University also offers a 21-month cohort designed AACSB EMBA in the Austin area; of course it costs more than the Concordia program: Baylor University || Executive MBA in Austin || Home .

If you’re interested in [online] MBA programs, there are numerous options to consider (including AACSB accredited). A few additional online MBA options are (there are many more):

UT Online Consortium: MBAO (AACSB) UTOC · MBAO Program Information

University of Houston-Victoria online Global MBA (AACSB) Welcome to the University of Houston-Victoria School of Business Administration, offering the AACSB-accredited Strategic MBA Online, Globa MBA Online, and Master of Science in Economic Development and Entrepreneurship Online

Texas A&M Commerce online MBA (AACSB) Texas A&M University-Commerce: Graduate Programs in Business & Technology

Sam Houston State University online MBA (AACSB): Master of Business Administration

Prairie View A&M online MBA (AACSB) MBA Program Online Option

I am in the unique position of working for Concordia University, as well as being a part of the first cohort of students in the Concordia MBA program. I will say that the MBA program is building a reputation as we speak. My class will be the first to graduate, and that will not happen for another year. However, Concordia's College of Business has been around a long time and has a good reputation with the traditional undergraduate program. If you are interested in the program, I would encourage you to attend an Information Session (click here for dates and registration). At the Information session you can chat with the Director of the program, faculty, current student, and admissions staff.

Thanks for the reply. I have registered for an information session and hope to learn more, as I am contemplating a Fall 2011 enrollment. I would like to message you offline for further questions if that's okay. Thanks.
