The message this day from Genevieve Rabreau, the person in charge of decisions on listings in the International Handbook of Universities/UNESCO in Geneva, as reported to AACRAO, is that they have rejected St. Regis despite its Liberian "approval."

I'm shocked. Shocked, I tell you. Whatever has become of this. John Bear must have used his influence to intimidate the United Nations.

And, yes, the above is what I fully expect from some folks around here.

As for St. Regis, it's only reasonable. Diploma mills shouldn't be listed in legitimate publications.

does this mean they will take down all the crap they say about Unesco... oh yeah... NOT.... But, will they do the same for all the other schools that are claiming Liberian accreditation? ie not list them?

I wonder what is being said about this on the St. Regis Alumni forumn... they won't let me join :(

It is nice to know that the folks who publish the IHU are taking more than a cursory look at schools like Berne and St. Regis.

    Excellent news.

A crook spends $50,000 in order to defraud people. It somehow seems fair if he doesn't get full value for his money. :D

    Dear Len

You wonder how St. Regis can be on the same list as University of Phoenix.

That site is most likely a scam that was made-up by the operators of Saint Regis. Listing legitimate schools along with their own worthless school gives a false impression of credibility to people who don't know any better.

Well sure, a degree mill would be one of the most flexible programs you could find, wouldn't it?

Can the notification from UNESCO / Ms. Rabreau be posted for verification?

Did I miss something? I clicked on Len's link, and the top 20 only went to 17. :D

Note where this request for verification is coming from.

    Mark and all,
I am not here to fight. I just asked a simple question and seek an answer. I'd hope it is taken as such.

Well Dr. Coach, let me ask you this. Coaching sports is usually thought of as a character building exercise on the one hand. On the other hand there's been a lot of academic fraud talked about in the news lately that has been perpetuated by sports coaches. (actually now ex-coaches) Would you care to comment?

Has any one ever seen a degree or transcript from St. Regis?

Thast seems fair. Were this person to begin making claims about St. Regis or other such schools, then it might warrant a response. Absent that, seems like a simple question seeking a simple answer.

    Rich,
Thank you for the comment. Just looking for an answer.

    Bill and all,
I will not burden this forum with this and will henceforth rarely post. Thank you all for your consideration and I wish you well.
