    Dear Sir:

Are you familiar with the following college, which is accredited by the Ministry of Education, St. Kitts, and would credentials awarded by this college be acceptable to the Oregon Office of Degree Authorization?

    CLARENCE FITZROY BRYANT COLLEGE
    P.O. Box 268/295
    Basseterre
FEDERATION OF ST. KITTS & NEVIS

Because of significant cuts to ODA's general fund budget, ODA must now charge a fee to answer questions such as the one you have asked. The fee schedule is now being prepared. We will offer biennial contract rates to agencies that anticipate using our degree validation services on a regular basis.
    We regret the inconvenience.

It does look as if the financial noose is tightening. Just curious, if they have to panhandle like that, who pays them when they're not answering questions?

The ODA isn't "fading away". Without it, who would oversee the OR-approved colleges?

It does seem to putting in a user-fee. That's probably to be expected, given that the office is growing much better known outside Oregon, and is probably receiving a greater volume of inquiries (like your own) from all over the world. Hiring a staffer to answer inquiries costs money. Why should Oregon tax-payers pay that bill, particularly in a time of large budget deficits?

If you want to try to jerk the ODA around with your rhetorical questions, you can damn well pay for the privilege.

Concerning your question, I'm not the ODA. But I'd guess that they would recognize Fitzroy Bryant College not because it's accredited by St. Kitts (is it?), but because it's a branch campus of the University of the West Indies. The UWI is long established and is a well known entity whose standards aren't seriously questioned, as far as I know.

Do we suspect that the Berne shill may be gone for posting the same item on multiple threads. Just a hunch.

At least until he changes his name.

Intersting, according UWI CLARENCE FITZROY BRYANT COLLEGE is a TERTIARY LEVEL INSTITUTIONS UNIT of UWI.
Or perhaps we are talking about a different school not at P.O. Box 268/295, Basseterre, FEDERATION OF ST. KITTS & NEVIS?
