A researcher should know enough about his/her subject to be able to work ably within it. Spelling "accredited" correctly should be a start. (Not once; throughout.) Otherwise, one might question what good it would do to participate, and what possible good any analysis of the data could be.

    Spoken like a true doctor.

I was always better in statistics that spelling , and I utilize spellcheck frequently. ;) Sorry about the error.

Moderator, Can you correct my spelling? Thanks.

What is the difference between State Approved and Non Accredited. Both are non accredited. As State Approved is non accredited, you might have wanted to place a category for Nationally Accredited (eg DETC, ATS, TRACS, AABC, etc).

Non-accredited: Without Accreditation - RA, National or State.

As far as nationally accredited category, It did not occur to me to include the other agencies. :(

    Strike two for me!:D

Hey I have posted polls before and later realized something was not worded well.

I still do not understand the differentiation you are making between Non Accredited & State Approved. State Approved is not a form of accreditation and therefore a State Approved degree is non Accredited or unaccredited (UnA as opposed to RA or NA).

    Good luck with your studies.

Where is the professionally accred. - like AACSB, I do not have a category that fits.

I don't want to speak for Gina, but I suspect the poll was to measure RA vs. DETC vs. State Approved vs. unaccredited.

Since every US AACSB school I know of is also RA, I would go with that.

Yes you do. Your degrees are RA. All AACSB-accredited business programs in U.S. colleges are RA.

Yes, I understand it is RA, but for those that RA is not significant, but the professional level is key to capture, but not for me to worry about.

If professional accreditations are to be added, the list will certainly include the following professional accreditations:

AACSB, ACBSP, IACBE, ABET, ABA, CSAB, APA, AMA, AMBA, RIBS, EQUIS, RIBA, ACEHSA, ACEJMC, AAMFT/COAMFTE, AAFCS, ABFSE, ACCE, ACF, CADE-ADA, PAB, ACOTE, ACOE, APMA, ASLA, ASHA, AVMA, CAPTE, CAAHEP, CCNE, CAA, CCE, CORE, CSWE, FIDER, JRCNMT, NAACLS, NAIT, NASAD, NASD, NASM, NASPAA, NAST, NCATE, NLNAC, NRPA/AALR, SAF, TEAC, etc.

For some reason I cannot post on the poll. However, all three of my degrees are RA and B&M even though the master's adn doc were done non-tradtionally (at least partially).

Only one person has confessed to a "degree mill quality" degree.

    Levicoff must have voted. :D

I agree, so why not just put professionally accred., as in the RA, it does not say which RA is important. You would obviously pick which is applicable, so since this is not a geographic suvery, a broad term is useful.

What I find interesting is that, although a DL forum, the majority of voters have Bachelors or Masters B&M Degrees.....I wonder how many of these are currently DL students or exploring to become a DL student. I also wonder who cast the vote of have a Diploma Mill Quality Degree (st. regis maybe??):D

Well, I've pretended to hand out diploma mill degrees to myself from Burlap University and also a diploma mill that is so secret that it can't be named. I didn't think to mark that. Sorry.

    Nice. Very friendly. And wrong.

I've been posting for years about statistics and research methods. Having recently graduated has nothing to do with it. (In fact, I first taught inferential statistics in a graduate school in 1998.)

I note that the original poster did not react like this--she just got it corrected. But there's always one....

I did not notice any friendliness in your post, if you dish it out you receive it back. If you wish to be treated in a civil, friendly way, you must show others the same respect.
