Quantity of dissertations

    While doing some research on Industrial Engineering topics on UMI I decided to try a variation of the Googling trick.

    The followingis a list of the number of dissertations on UMI by school from the last 2 years (approximate):

    Berne - 0
    Capella - 130
    Kennedy-Western - 0
    Nova Southeastern - 115
    St. Regis - 0
    Univeristy of Phoenix - 17
    Union Institute - 207
    Walden - 95

    Will UMI even ACCEPT dissertations from non-RA schools?

    Cehi: Many years ago, UMI used to accept submittals of doctoral dissertations from unaccredited universities. Nowadays, this is no longer UMI practice(s). There are now many other unpopular evenues that are springing up for students to publish their dissertations. Thank you.

    I know that UMI used to list dissertations from reputable European universities.

    Of my previous employers, Glasgow comes out with 293 and Oxford with 1,793. My alma maters of Warwick and Sussex show up quite well, too.

    However, trying to find the UMI web site, my first shot was www.umi.edu -- which wasn't quite what I expected!
