I thought that "institution" was shut down. I would have thought that these employees of the government would have known that.

Score another one for " homeland security".

Mike/ Taxpayer getting great value from govt.

This is how the government spends your hard earned tax dollars. Welcome to reality.

    Roy,

Why I am glad you posted :)

I was thinking about your prior information and how right you were! I still am amazed that this continues.

You would think there would be some serious upgrade in accountability, and in of all places, homeland security?

    Anyway, Thank you :)

Mike/ Taxpayer still getting great value from govt.

Oh, they know that. They just hope that no one else does.

P.S. And is it just me or does "Homeland Security" sound like something out of a Hollywood 'B' Movie about Nazi Germany? Probably just me.

    Rich,
This is an excellent example of poor H.R. management at the senior level.
Most municipalities and counties don't have the resources to adequately screen their job candidates. Degrees are taken at "face value" and resumes are placed in the employees file without question.
LaSalle University in Louisiana or Pennsylvania? To bureaucrats it doesn't matter (RA or diploma mill) where you get your credentials.
    regards,

The man with the phony LaSalle doctorate claims that he didn't know.

LaSalle is one of the rare cases where the government retrieved enough money (over $10 million) to offer refunds to all alumni. They were really quite thorough in trying to communicate with every name on the list.

Because you had to give up your degree and return your diploma in order to get the refund, quite a high percentage of people who got the letter chose not to accept the offer.

But who wants to give up a Ph.D.? ;)

  11. On my last five-year reinvestigation, the investigator-- a contractor employees, incidentally-- sent "leads" that the offices responsible for Pueblo, CO, Athens, OH, and Baton Rouge, LA to "cover" three correspondence courses (one apiece) that I took at University of Southern CO, Ohio University, and LSU respectively. They delayed completion by almost an additional month to do so.

I guess the whole thing would've gone much smoother if I were in the Senior Executive Service.. apparently, it's impossible for an SES candidate to be "lacking in candor," rendering an actual investigation unneccessary.
