Sorry folks, I obviously have not had enough sleep lately. It should be "is considering" and "their" chances.
In fact you may suggest that the entire question is a result of foggy thinking!?

No, you've been spending too much time reading their website (Bethany's "credence", etc., etc.). Do a search on them here; there is quite a bit of older material on them. They have an uncritical apologist--you will readily see who it is--who also posts copiously on another website.
My guess, and it is no more than that, is that they will have a long way to go before obtaining RA.
If ACCS has had some difficulty maintaining NA (though I am confident they will do so, when all is said and done), Bethany's obtaining RA would appear to be something of a forlorn hope.

    janko,
I agree with your opinion that RA is past them at this point. Do you think TRACS or DETC is easier to achieve?

I think TRACS requires a large residential component while with DETC you have to lose the doctorates.

I don't think that there would be much difference in standards, but I don't know that R/A is a whole lot tougher.

Fully distance ed programs outside the NCA region have an almost impossible time achieving accreditation.

Hi Alan: If you go to the TRACS website http://www.tracs.org/ you will find their handbook on accreditation. The widespread belief (which may well be easy to document) is that NA is easier to get than RA. The pursuit of RA by Bethany may well be brave talk or wishful thinking; given their theological orientation, they would be acceptable to TRACS on that score. Unless they have hidden resources, I just don't think they will get RA very soon--if ever. I'll look again at Bethany's website to see if something has changed since I last read through it. A lot would need to change for a realistic shot at either RA or NA.

    Dennis and janko,
Yes, this was my sense about the issue as well. I find it interesting how schools are continually claiming to be checking into accreditation.
