It seems definite now. C-Span's Washington Journal is on from 7 to 10, live, Eastern time. I don't know how much of the program will be devoted to degree mills, but I will be on (by satellite) from 9:30 to 10 am (Eastern time), to pontificate and (dare I say this?) to answer questions from callers.

And of course in the world of live television, everything is subject to change.

Who knows when a treed cat is the lead story on the news?

The cat isn't going to come down as long as everyone is watching it. I have never seen a dead cat in a tree.

Give us the phone number, John, the DegreeInfo gang will keep the phone lines hot. ;)

This is what it says on their website:
    ----------------------------------------------------------
    Washington Journal: Democrats (202) 585-3881
    Washington Journal: Republicans (202) 585-3880
    Washington Journal: Others (202) 585-3882
    -----------------------------------------------------------

For this occasion, it really should be Accredited, Unaccredited, and Others.

I have no idea if the focus will be some, most, or all on Callahan. Out of my hands.

9:30 to 10, Eastern time, tomorrow (Monday).

Did anyone else notice Dr, Bear’s necktie? Charming touch. :)

For those of you who missed it, the streaming video (Real Player format) of Dr. Bear’s appearance on C-SPAN is now available at http://www.c-span.org/

    Dr.Bear,
I thought you were very informative. Very interesting information.
Your points came straight across. I am enlightened.

    Thank you.

Gus: Did anyone else notice Dr, Bear’s necktie? Charming touch.

John: Hmmm. If I made this a Solstice Puzzler -- where is (allegedly) the only place on earth one can buy that particular necktie -- I'd bet even Gus couldn't come up with that one.

The necktie can't be bought, John. It was a personal gift from the Dalai Lama. ;)

Seriously, the C-Span segment was excellent. As each caller was identified I anticipated someone from DegreeInfo, but alas, no familiar voice was heard.

Dr. Bear, why do you continue to prod, cajole, tempt, and torment me so? You know that I have officially notified you of my retirement from all puzzlers so that others may have a chance to win. :D

Suffice to say, that you would lose that bet; I know where to purchase that tie (and it’s a delightful inside joke). (By the way, I also got the answer to the Xerox puzzler right away.) :D :D :D

It was a real wonderful presentation. It was an opportunity to see a great man like you on TV...
