Hamilton's only required course is on personal, business and professional ethics.

"Hamilton University’s enrollment application and enrollment invitation spell out the simple requirements for students who wish to obtain a Ph.D.:

    * $3,600, payable up front by bank draft or personal check only. Hamilton does not accept credit cards.

    * Completing one course at home on “personal, business and professional ethics.” Hamilton provides the course workbook, and the student must complete the open-book examination that is included. The school’s materials state the course and test require an average of five to eight hours to complete.

    * Writing one paper relevant to the area in which the Ph.D. is being sought. The minimum length for the paper is 2,000 words, or roughly four pages, and will “be referred to as a dissertation,” the materials say."

Prior to learning about the great Degree Info site, I actually enrolled in Hamilton University. I sent them almost $2,000 and then learned that it was a degree mill. They sent me n my cirriculum which include a 10 page course and a final paper of 500 words. At the time I did not have any college credits but this process was going to get me a BA in criminal justice..

I withdrew after about 10 days and only got $200 of my money refunded. What a ripoff!!!!

If your statem, ent is correct. That is very frightening. I think for $1,000 more dollars I could have received my Phd.

KA BOOM! Anyone want to bet that her undergraduate and masters are legit?? Why ruin something good with a fake Phd?? I don't understand it.

I bet that you're correct. I'm guessing that she resigns within a month.

Or sooner, if Good Morning America decides to pursue this. They've been hoping for a big 'catch' to do their next diploma mill segment, and I've forwarded Oxpecker's post to them.

Here is a picture of Dr. Callahan, Hamilton U. alum: http://www.fcw.com/events/fed100/2002/callahan.asp

    A more recent photo:

Interestingly, here is a 2002 article that references her bachelors and masters (not where) and her Ph.D. from Hamilton. http://www.gcn.com/21_28/interview/19948-1.html I found this statement of interest: "It will give us different opportunities to look at training folks in the skills we need for the IT work force. " Maybe the approach will be to send folks to Hamilton and similar schools and get them "trained.".

I found this article rather interesting (http://www.cnn.com/2000/ALLPOLITICS/stories/05/02/whitehouse.email). A quote from the article: "When asked why some on the team -- including Robert Haas, a systems administrator who has since filed a lawsuit in the matter -- recalled having been threatened during a meeting on the issue, Callahan said: "He may be either having a bad recollection or having an overactive imagination with regard to having the threat being made to him."

I wonder if Dr. Callahan will have good recollection regarding the validity of her degree that is widely used in government. I am wondering about her bachelor and master's degree now. This bio also does not tell us where they are from but there is no problem in listing Hamilton. http://www.hpcc-usa.org/callahanbio.htm

P.S. Is it a coincidence that degreeinfo has some 'technical' problems just days after this person (high level it official for the department of homeland security) and her academic highjinks were first mentioned here?

Great article and it confirms that her degrees were all from Hamilton with the exception of the only RA degree -- he Associates from TESC.

I wonder how many legit degree holders applied for her position.

Well, it is good to be right once in a while. :D
Of course, Dr. John was right also.

I still wonder what happened to my 'professor' at a NA school, who also was a 'consultant/author', that publicly claimed a Hamilton U doctorate, along with his bachelor and master degrees from Pacific Western.

She's almost a complete academic fraud. She apparently has an AA degree but claims a Ph.D. Well it sure appears to me that Mrs. Callahan owes the US government a refund on a big chunk of the paychecks she's been scamming.

I am now waiting to see what action Tom Ridge is going to take. DHS is awfully quite about the matter.
