There isn't one. There was, but it moved to Hawaii.

The first California one, a phony operated in the 1950s and early 1960s, was closed down by authorities.

The second California one, as Rich points out, moved to Hawaii, when California laws got tougher in the late 1970s, and became Honolulu University of the Arts, Sciences and Humanities.

The current one has its campus in a rented post office box in Carson City, Nevada ("The Golden State") and its degree granting authority from Tortola, British West Indies (another P. O. box).

This poster asked this question in another thread, where I provided up-to-date information on the newest incarnation of Golden State. Then he/she created a new thread to get, I guess, the same answer.

    Nice Name Though!

I like the name though. It has the ring of legitimacy and stability despite the realit y. Too bad EC can't use Empire State College or something similiar.

I wonder if the proprietors picked "Golden State" because it sounds like "Golden GATE", a well known B&M university in San Francisco?

Did the university has a CAMPUS at CA?

How well this university compare to Greenwich?

Ostwell asks: "Did the university has a CAMPUS at CA?"

    John replies: No

Ostwell asks: "How well this university compare to Greenwich?"

John asks: Are you talking about the first (CA), the second (CA, then Hawaii), or the third, as identified in this thread? And for what purpose?

There would be quite different answers based on acceptance in the academic world, in the business world, in the government world, as well as where you are. The one thing for sure is that all three could get you arrested in Oregon.

Also, they brag about BAOL, when ODLQC is what is wanted--and isn't accreditation anyway.

Are you a displaced Greenwich student?

Perhaps a moderator moved the thread from the Distance Learning forum to the Unaccredited forum and so ostwell didn't know and started up another thread???

"XYZ State" does have a ring of legitimacy. "Breyer State University" sounds good (but is not). I like the idea of "Redneck State University" myself.

Check out Friends International Christian University.

CA religious exemption, ACI accreditation and DL doctoral programs.

They have several mega-church pastors among their alumni, including the inimitable T.D. Jakes, who operates the largest church in the state of Texas (and that's definitely saying something!), with a congregation of 25,000 members.

Yes. "Huge" by NJ standards is puny by TX standards.
