My copy of Bears' 14th ed. (I don't have 15th yet) lists AMBAI (American Management and Business Administration Institute) in the Miscellaneous chapter as an unaccredited institute that offers a diploma but not degrees. I see now that AMBAI does offer a BBA and an MBA: AMBAI University.

OK, I'll apply the Google test. Searching using the acronym 'AMBAI':

Here's AMBAI's "accreditor". Both AMBAI and its "accreditor" have the same address at 955 Massachusetts Ave., Cambridge MA, #3000.

Here's a website for the "accreditor" that's still left on Geocities:

    http://www.geocities.com/aobesociety/members.htm

Here's a Spanish language AMBAI site:

    http://www.mbaii.org/ambac/

Here's another Spanish language AMBAI site still on Geocities:

    http://www.geocities.com/elmbavirtual/

    Here's AMBAI's "journal":

    http://www.mbaii.org/journalEng/JengCurrent.htm

Here's a group that AMBAI seems to have started for itself at Yahoo groups (it seems to contain the same kind of short blurbs as the journal):

    http://groups.yahoo.com/group/AmbaiBizNews/

Here's Mr. Kasis' $49 'Virtual MBA' 120 page downloadable e-book for sale. (It's a PDF file.) Purchase of the book is also said to be free tuition to an AMBAI associates degree program:

Here's another 112 page $49 downloadable e-book on finance and investing from Mr. Kasis. It's price is tuition to another of his associates degree programs:

    http://www.booklocker.com/books/432.html

Here's what seems to be an Englishman living in Denmark who uses Kasis' e-books in teaching his own business classes:

    Here's Fairfax University endorsing AMBAI:

OK, that's pretty much everything of relevance on the first five pages of search results.

It seems that Ambai is a language spoken in Sumatra, Indonesia. And apparently there is a Tamil writer named Ambai who is well known in India and has a school in Tamil Nadu named for her.

But if the Massachusetts AMBAI were really a credible business organization, wouldn't there be some reference to the initials by somebody other than themselves?

BTW, is this kind of thing even legal in the state of Massachusetts?
